Marilyn Suey Launches First book “36 Quick Tips for Savvy Women- Taking Control of Your Work, Your Wealth, Your Worth”

SAN RAMON CA. December 4, 2014 ― The inspiration for this first edition of “36 Quick Tips for Savvy Women-Taking Control of Your Work, Your Wealth, Your Worth”, came from a recent women’s networking event for Wharton and Harvard Business School graduates. The room was full and there were great guest speakers to lead the event and discussions centered on women and their careers.

Marilyn’s AHA moment came from the types of questions that were asked by women of all ages about career and life transitions, which were the same ones that were asked some 35 years ago. Except in those early years, there were no women’s networking events to share our experiences! During the event she asked herself, “Wow, Haven’t we come a long way baby?” “Not as much as I thought and what can I do to help”?

This first book contains several of her real world ideas on how savvy women can have a rewarding career, a family, and build a life around ones’ passions. It takes time, a persistent mindset and strategic investments in education, skill development, mentors and coaches.

Marilyn has managed her career for over 30 years in high technology businesses leading in the marketing and sales arenas and heading up a venture backed start-up as CEO. She has also adopted two daughters, with her husband, Stephen Diamond, so she has experienced the tough challenges of being a working mother and managing her career. She continued her entrepreneurial ways and started a wealth management business after her second baby arrived from China. Marilyn loves working with women, entrepreneurs and business owners, to help them take control and enjoy their chosen paths on their own “Yellow Brick Road of Life.”

“I read Marilyn’s book and loved the way she interleaves the concepts of work, wealth and worth”, said Parie Petty, owner, Western Lithographics, located in Orange County, California. “This is a “little book”, filled with big impact ideas for women of all ages, from all walks of life, who have hopes and dreams they wish to realize.”

“When I read Marilyn’s book, I found it very inspirational and motivating”, said Catherine Censullo, CPA, who manages her CPA and Wealth Management practice in White Plains, New York. “She focuses on identifying one’s unique talents and passions. What makes a person smile? And how can one find the right career path that leverages a woman’s talents so that she shines like a bright light?”

“36 Quick Tips for Savvy Women” explores what actions are necessary for woman to take more control of our unique talents, and how to apply them to our careers, our finances, and our self-worth. The message to women is that we all have a unique purpose, and when we follow our passions, while applying perseverance and persistence, we will reach our goals and make our dreams a reality.
